The FDA has begun sending out more warning letters to online companies selling hemp-based products, which they claim are cure-alls. These companies include:
- Green Garden Gold
- ABC Productions
- Morguetorium, LLC
- Sana Te
- com
- PainBomb
- Dose of Nature
- Michigan Herbal Remedies
If these companies fail to comply and quit selling products as dietary supplements, they will be subject to seizures as well as injunctions.
According to reports, these eight companies work to convince the parents of sick children and people with cancer that their elixirs will work to cure their ailments. For example, Morguetorium, LLC’s claims the following about its product ‘Morgue Juice’: “CBD kills breast cancer. … [and] could treat aggressive forms of cancer without any of the painful side effects of chemotherapy.” No evidence exists to support these claims; moreover, FDA-compliant CBD oil companies typically avoid making such claims.
The FDA sent the following warning to Morguetorium, LLC: “Your product ‘Morgue Juice’ is not generally recognized as safe and effective for the above referenced uses and, therefore, the product is a ‘new drug’…New drugs may not be legally introduced or delivered for introduction into interstate commerce without prior approval from the FDA…FDA approves a new drug on the basis of scientific data and information demonstrating that the drug is safe and effective.”
